Brad Martin celebrates birthday Opry Style
May 5, 2002: It was a night to remember for Brad Martin, who celebrated his 29th birthday Friday night by making his second appearance on the Grand Ole Opry. Prior to hitting the stage, he walked into his dressing room and was surprised to find his mother, father, brother and younger sister had driven down from his hometown of Greenfield, Ohio. Immediately following his performance of his single "Before I Knew Better" and "Rub Me The Right Way," Opry star Jeannie Seeley brought Martin's family on stage and lead the entire audience in singing "Happy Birthday." The surprises continued as Seeley and Little Jimmy Dickens visited Martin's dressing room with a very special birthday cake, which had a photo of Martin's debut Opry appearance scanned in icing on top of the chocolate (his favorite) cake. Martin's debut album, "Wings of a Honky Tonk Angel" on Epic Records, hits stores June 18.
